i have a vey nice scoped(bushnell) 760 in 308 with the 22 inch barrel, condition overall in the 95 percent range, i plan on listing this in the exchange forum, what would be a fair starting price. thanks glenn

Take a look at the big retailers like Wholesale Sports and SIR. See what they sell a Remington gas auto for. Then decide how much of the new price is inflation, and how much is improved product.

I think the 760 is the oldest pump in the line (76 is the budget, 762 more modern and 7600 the most modern).

The 760/7600s are pump actions.

The gun in question would be worth about $450, maybe a wee bit more, tops.

I bought a Rem 760 Carbine in 308. At Trebleys. Orillia ON. It's 95%. Really nice! No major scratches or marks. I paid 450.00 + GST & PST. The carbines are very hard to find in the Rem 760. 22" barrel models more common. If it's was a carbine, I would buy it in a second. I would think being 95% no more than 425.00 to 450.00
I hope this helps. Tikka

In eastern Ontario the gun would go for less than five hundred bucks. If you had $500 on the gun at a gun show, it would not even get picked up. The scope does not add much to the value unless it is an Elite or a Japanese manufacture like the older Banners and Trophys.

I agree with the suggestion of $450 as an honest price for both buyer and seller. They are an excellent rifle, and I prefer them to the 7600s, but most gun buyers are younger folks and in many cases are not familiar with older models (think Remington 721 and 722, for example - excellent, indestructible actions, and almost impossible to sell these days....)
