etc,,,,

i own a remington ML bolt action and it seen its wear and tear , but i use to shoot beer can at 200 yards with it ... now at a 100 yrds u lucky if u can get 2 shots inside a 45 gallon drum.

i clean it right out let it soak made sure there no plastic in it ( there is some pitting in it ,)
i was shooting triple 7 and pyrodex and it had major delays , some time shot good next liek sec delay ... kinda lost on it any help be great thanks ..

"...some pitting..." Pitting is caused by rust. How often have you cleaned it? Soaking it doesn't remove any plastic. Doesn't clean it properly either.
'U' is not a word.

I shoot my fathers gensis and I enjoy it......he can put 5 shots in a CD sized grouping at 200 yard everything....not super impressive but not bad either.

Have you tried cleaning the primer flash hole? The slow ignition, it sounds like the flash hole is plugged.

I just traded my Genesis in for a new rifle. The Genesis was a good ML - the stainless was relatively easy to clean (fouling definitely stands out against the finish) and the accuracy was pretty good (2-4" at 100m) It was consistent and I never had a fail to fire. The reason I got rid of it was I quickly decided I hate Black Powder. As cool as it seemed at the time, I was glad I got the Genesis to try before committing to a more expensive ML. I shot only Pyrodex and 777 but man after 3-5 shots it was a PITA to clean. I am used to shooting strings that quadruple that with center fire and my hands were covered with soot. I wanted to open another hunting season but in the end decided I didn't like the hassle of the ML enough to go for a deer with it. The Genesis was pretty easy to clean (if you are used to a ML) flip the breech block, unscrew primer plug, and clean barrel. The kit came with everything to shoot less powder primers so that was nice.

i purchased a genesis last fall and love it but am having a hard time finding a bullet with good group results. i just tried barnes spit fire tmz 250 g with 100 g 777 pellets and got 6 inch groups at 100 yrds and the powerbelts i tried this spring were four to five inch. anybody have any advice. thx

the 250 grain T/C shockwaves work for me with 3 triple 7 pellets behind it. Also have a Nikon Omega scope with the BDC. Pretty accurate setup out to 250 yards. It shoots about 4" groups at 200, off a bench and that's good enough for me. :D

My advice is get a savage that is capable of shooting smokeless. I own one and friends do as well. Everyone of them has more than acceptable hunting accuracy to 200 yrs and no cleaning issues, soot, smoke or any of the other unpleasantries of black powder.

Mine is getting on to 8 years old now with no issues other than a powder problem ( IMR 4227:mad:) Fixed by using another powder.

300 gr XTP's in a sabot at well over 2000 fps.

This is from Wednesday. Neck shot.
