Hey guys, I was just recently at my local home hardware and saw they had 100rnd packs of .22lr Remington Golden Bullets for $5. They had about 40 of them, so I grabbed a few packs. I probably won't have a chance to try them out for a few days, and have read some mixed reviews about them on the internet post purchase.

I am planning on running them through a savage mk2 and a 10/22, and was wondering if you guys have had any experiances with them. I was considering going back and getting more tomorrow before they're cleaned out, but don't want to but a ton if it'll run terribly in semi-autos.

Opinions?

I have gone through about one and a half of the Golden buckets (1800 each) and haven't had any major issues other than a few duds here and there. I have shot them through the following:
* savage mk2
* tanfoglio appeal
* alfa proj revolver

The appeal is semi-auto and didn't have any issues with the ammo.

I have used them in a 10/22 on a regular basis with no real issues. Regular 10 rd mags and butler creek 25 rd mags. You will find the odd one which doesn't go bang or which is pinched or seated crooked. If I had to guess, I'd say less than 1% in my experience. 500 rounds for 25 bucks is a good deal compared to prices around here.

I have used the Golden Bullets in my Sig 226 with .22 conversion slide and they work fine, the pistol seems to like them. People complain that they are dirty and they are a bit dirty. The last bucket I bought was $80.00 (1400 rounds) last summer. Current price is $125.00 (.057 cents a round) at the big box store that starts with a C, online but I see they are out of stock.

Sure it's not 5$ for 50?
If it's 100 rounds it's good enough!

ahaha yeah, it's a 100. They are in a square shaped plastic container with the swiss-cheese plastic piece separating each round, similar to the way cci packages mini-mags.

Buddy at the store said they had them forever and needed to sell them before they "went bad."

I've run thousands in semi auto pistols. They're fine for plinking and at $5 a box buy the works of them. My local WM has them if $98/tub of 1400

Works fine in everything I fed it into. Marlin 70, Marlin 795, Alfa Proj 2361 with 22lr cylinder installed, Beretta 71, Advantage Arms conversion on Glock 17.

Cycle fine in my Savage 64F, Cooey 64F, 10/22

Accurate enough for plinking with my SavageMk2. Got a bunch of bulk pack labelled at 22.99 and buckets at 69.99.

5$ for 100 isnt bad actually

Pretty reliable for bulk ammo. I have had much better results with the goldies then any of the Winchester bulk. It's defiantly NOT match ammo, but good for what it's made for plinking.

Last store that i looked at Sports store not a GS 11.99 /100 for the golden bullet (Ontario)
for the last 3 years no 22rf on shelves or very limited
