Remington ISS J lock

Hey guys

I want to get rid of the J lock on my 700, and at the same time i am looking to install a lock speed kit. So is it possible that I could order a regular short action speed lock assembly and kill two birds with one stone or do I have to buy the kit to change over the J lock and then buy my speed lock kit

I hate that ISS too.

I bought a new firing pin and bolt shroud assembly to replace mine from Brownells.

So that assembly will drop right into my ISS bolt with no issues and I will have a speed lock kit and be done with the J-lock all at once?

I'm pretty sure it will.

Try phoning Remington or a Brownells tech just to be sure.

IIRC, I did and they said it was no problem.

Of course expect Remington to try selling you on their non-ISS model.
