Greetings,

I’ve got a REM mag which is only marked as “Remington Short Action 124C16”.

Could anyone please help ID the rifle model & likely calibers it’s good for?

Sorry I’m new to this, look forward to learning more. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your advice! I'll get on that though oh boy they don't make it easy to just upload the pics here do they.
What... Uploading is simple. Click attached file on the bottom of where you post. Then select the photo you want and bam. Just might not allow you because still a new member with low posts.

Could you describe it. Like does it got a mag catch? If so from, back on the side, rounder edges?

Short action is caliber like 308, .243 and less.

Thanks for the input everyone. Yeah I think I'm still on some kind of probation with some features not available. Regarding the mag appearance, I'm not sure what a mag catch is, but it looks nearly identical to this one:

Again, being new to this I don't want to assume that the one I've got is the same as above, and would like to get a sense of collective wisdom here.
Many thanks again.

Well some Rem magazines, have a magazine catch ( mechanical tab or catch to hold the mag in the gun ) built into the magazine. Be it a tab in the front or back, or on the side to remove the magazine from the gun.

The item number doesn't come up with anything. But I've seen those 710 mags with a 3 number followed by C and 2 numbers.

Thanks a lot. Does this particular mag seem to have the mag catch? Don't seem like to me but I'm here to learn.

It does seem to look a lot like the Rem 710/715/770 SA mag now that I can find a lot of closely looking similes on ebay. I don't really have a need for it so I think I'd like to sell it but would want to know what/ how to describe it, or which FA it pairs with.
