So I was back at the farm a couple weekends ago shooting some trap with my old man. I didn't think much of it, but I grabbed an old pump that I had basically grown up learning to shoot on. For some reason, I thought that it was an Ithica - it is a bottom load, bottom eject 12 ga after all. Upon closer inspection, I realize it is a Remington Model 10 A. And the serial number is only 3 digits... 9XX. That puts it circa 1908 I believe.

What would the value be on this thing? Overall, it has seen some heavy use. Wood is well worn, but no major chips or cracks. Somewhere along the lines, a poly choke has been added. Dad says that the original bill of sale is behind the buttplate, but I can't confirm this.

My guess - $300 to $500. And if that's the case, we're gonna keep shooting it. Thoughts?

I know this is a major thread revival, but I need some info on an old Model 10, made, according to Remington, in 1913. Specifically, the shotgun won't fire unless the action is racked with the ejection port facing up. I've taken it down as far as I can, but I just can't figure out why the bolt won't go completely into battery unless the shotgun is held upside down.
