Remington model 1100 Barrels

Hey Guys
Just wondering if all the barrels on model 1100 where interchangeable? I have one with a fixed full vent rib, and am in the process of getting another one mail order , just don’t want any surprises!

All interchangeable within gauge. EXCEPT: magnum (3" chambered) barrels are ported differently and will not work on a 2 3/4" gun that well. 2 3/4" barrels have larger ports and can batter a magnum action due to too much gas flow to the heavy magnum action sleeve (read inertia). The last issue is of course left hand barrels will not work on right hand actions. Oh ya some early 20 gauge barrels will not interchange due to design of the day. X frame 1100 etc. No issue if yours is 12 bore. 1187 barrels look the same but do not interchange well with the 1100. Hope that helps. To sum it up most do some don't.

The 20 gauge Lightweight is a smaller frame and requires the lightweight barrel. The regular 20 gauge is on a 12 gauge receiver.
