Hi,

Any opinions on buying this older model as a first rifle to learn how to shoot?

I like the idea of the pump action in general but it seems rare on rifles. What are it's pitfalls compared to bolt action?

Thanks

Great little gun ,very dainty rifle. I have one that was my grandfathers in great shape and a couple of junkers for parts. It is a 1912 design , last one was made in 1936, it is a good strong gun but if anything breaks there are no easy purchase of parts. But if the gun is cheap enough, that might not be a big problem. Goto www.remington.com/library/ then click "HISTORY" Areal cool site for REMINGTON MODELS. Also do a www.dogpile.com search of "REMINGTON MODEL 12 RIFLE"
