For me this is the rifle ive dreamed of...ive been searching for years and today ive finally found it.

This was my grandfathers rifle and i will cherish this firearm.
Remington Model 4 chambered in (rare) 25 Stevens or (25-10)
22.5 in octagon barrel, rolling block all original with a shiny bore

Very nice! Have you got plans to get some ammo and do some shooting?

I am quite fond of the rollers and have the same gun in a 32RF but its quite rough and the barrel is loose. Still on the rebuild list for sure.

very very nice.I've been bitten by the same bug-got a Husqvarna RB in .22 short, and now an 8x58R built in 1876[10 years before my grandfather was bornand the year Custor was killed on the Little BigHorn].Thats a piece of real history .
Just got the dies yesterday,so now I have to fireform brass and shoot it.

As luck would have it, i found a box of Stevens 25 Short. i had purchased these sometime in the early 90s during my travels in the USA.
It didnt take me long to out and fire a couple rounds. The little shells fired without a hitch. The shells are very scarce so i dont think i will be sitting down for a long range session sighting in this vintage firearm.
