So I got my Remington Model 5 in the mail.
Nice looking gun. All steel and wood. Good bluing. Milled steel trigger guard. Fully adjustable trigger. Adjusts down to 2.5 lbs. Looks like it could go lower if I changed the spring. Adjustable for sear engagement as well. I think I'll let it break in a bit before I mess with that.
The sights don't look bad. Whe I shoulder the gun, the sights are perfectly lined up. I assume I'll scope it but not sure.
Only a single action screw. The receiver is drilled and tapped for a second screw but the stock isn't - the trigger guard would be in the way.
There is a pressure pad for the barrel in the forearm channel. The barrel is not quite centered in the forearm channel, much like you always hear about the CZ's.
The action cutout has machining marks showing. The reciever bolt bore also has heavy machining marks. The mag release is a little cheesy.
So far, at least, I'm happy with the gun. With the weather, don't know when I'll get out shooting.
