Remington Model 541 sporter mint condition Like new

So it is obviously a 541T Sporter. What I would pay would depend whether it is an "early" or "late" 541T.

The early versions retained the semi-match chamber, and will engrave the bullet when it is chambered.
The late versions have a slightly more generous chamber, and would be less desirable, IMHO.

I have an early "T" already, and it shoots right with my 541S as far as accuracy goes [very good, BTW]

Early version in mint condition $650.00 - $700.00. Later: $450.00 - $550.00

Regards, Dave.

Personally .. if I owned that I probably wouldn't sell it! Are the magazines steel? Years ago a lady I knew got into competitive rim fire shooting in Kitchener Waterloo... it was a VERY active/VERY competitive group! One of her 'mentors' picked out a rifle for her - it was a Remington 541S with very nice scroll work on the receiver. When she showed it to me I was 'underwhelmed' as I had envisioned a very clunky full-on target style rifle as a good place to start for someone getting into club matches,, and frankly I thought she had been sold a 'bill of goods!' by her so-called mentor ... that is until I saw the RESULTS that 541S produced!! It was pretty 'F'ing amazing for what looked like nothing more than a nice little field grade sporter...

I have the mint 541S that my father purchased new in '85 at the then fairly new Le Baron location in Missisauga while visiting relatives. It looks like a gem with the rosewood forend tip and butt plate and shoots amazingly well with just about any ammo that you feed it.

I was unaware of the match chamber. Thanks Eagleye for your usual insight into rimfires. You know more than I ever will. :)

I've owned one for about 20 years. They are an amazingly accurate rifle but the mags, particularly the 10 round ones are garbage. They tend to squirt all the loaded frowns out after the first shot. Where did this lady find steel mags. All I've found are the Remington plastic c--p mags!

Remington 541 mags, aka Pez dispensers. I have two 541T HB's that I've drilled and tapped for the second screw, I still have to bed them.

Sorry as far as I know she didn't find any steel mags ... I was curious when manitou said "100% steel and wood" if he had steel mags ....wasn't being sarcastic though ..just curious!
