Remington Model 700 carbine?

RJ, it is not a 19" barrel. He is measuring it incorrectly. D.

You're right, I just measured it quickly from the exterior receiver ring to the barrel tip, not with a rod to the bolt face. Must be 20-inches.

I have had two of the early model 700 rifles with the 20 inch barrel. One was a BDL
in .222 Remington Magnum which I sold about a year ago. I still have the 20 inch ADL in 243. The trigger has been tuned to 2 pounds 12 oz and the safety has been changed so bolt will open with safety on . Rifle shoots better than MOA.

I'm just storing this for my neighbour until an unspecified time, either when he wants it back after he resettles or his sons (42 and 45) get their PAL. He's choked at them because he showed them how to shoot over 30 years ago but they show no interest in his guns or getting their permits. They've been promising him for years to get a PAL but never seem to get around to it.

Meanwhile, I have this 308 on loan indefinitely so I'm going to give it a try. Maybe even for spring bear but I've gotta get to the range first.

I inherited a well worn [exterior]1960's Rem 700 ADL .30-06 with 20" barrel with factory sites from a great uncle about 25 yrs ago. He bought it local & hunted many years & deer with it. He bought it to scope as his then eyes were getting too weary for iron sites.
