I have been trying to find a 35 whelen in the 7600 without success so I thought I would expand my search to the 35 Remington and have it converted to a 358 win. I was wondering if there is a short action and long action or if all are the same length?

All the same length. Different cartridge lengths are accommodated by the magazine design.
A .35 Remington has a different head diameter than the .35 Whelen, so a different bolt would be required.

They are all the same length as far as I know. The 7600 is similar in design to the 7400 series. In that series the 308 and 30'06 are the same action length, with magazines being different designs. Both have the same rim diameter, therefore the same bolt is used. You may have to check this to see if a 35 Rem and 358 Win are compatible in similar ways.

Not true.
Bolts for 35 Whelen and 35 Rem are the same, I rechambered 35 Rem into 35 Whelen and after changing the magazine the conversions was done.
35 Rem can be rechambered to 358 Win no problem.
358 Win can't be rechambered into regular 35 Whelen but 35 Whelen improoved Ackley or 35 Whelen RCBS improoved would be fine.
GR8 2c worth....

You know, I just assumed that because the .35 Remington is smaller in diameter, that Remington would have sized the boltface to suit, rather than using a one size fits all approach. Thanks for the clarification.
