Anyone pick one of these up yet? Get some hands on? Seriously thinking of getting one from SIR and of course a collapsible stock from Questar.

With the 10 round LAR15 mags I have, it seems like a fun toy.

What you think? Accuracy? Overall?

Big can of tan krylon and your good to go? :dancingbanana:

Actually it is more a Bushmaster Predator, which I just picked up and it was way more money. I am curious as to what the differences are, barrel twist, trigger etc. . If these shoot near as good as their namesakes then it should be a boon to the service rifle matches.

1. Different barrels (length and contour) button rifled. .068" 18" and 22" barrel lengths
2. Different float tube (drilled and tapped for light rail which is included)
3. Nice single stage trigger (Two Stage available on signature gun)
4. Different bolt carrier
5. Camo is standard.
6. Less expensive.

Question for you with the free float tubes, At the end of the free float handguard and the gas block, is there anything there touching/holding the handguard?

Are these in Canada yet? I heard they won't be inland till Octoberish........

If there was, it wouldn't be free floating now would it? :D

That's a negative - a free float tube does not touch the barrel at the end. It's usually open, or there is a cap that doesn't touch the barrel.

I've learned something today :dancingbanana: Thanks....

There's a bit of a cap on the R15 or so I think by some of the pics I've seen.

If Remington will use their hammer forging machine to make AR barrels.....

but a 3.5 lb trigger is illegal in service rifle.

Well I'm building an AR right now and I'm well over the $999 that Cabela's are selling them for, so this is a really good deal. I think if I had my time back I would have got one these and throw on a 6 Pos stock. cut and tread the barrel to a nice 14.5".....Still might do it yet, have a birthday coming up. Hell this hobby is getting expensive, I think I should get a second job to pay for my gun addiction.

$1078.29 total with gst/priority shipping from SIR/Cabellas :)

Called the mailorder line first to see if it is in stock and they are not. Back ordered from May 08 .......expecting them any day though

Give me time to track down a nice tan collapsible stock and work on my painting skills I guess

Personally, I think I will just go buy a STAG or something else.

yeh, it is cheaper - but basicly you are getting the cheapest and most basic AR - no chromelining, no proof, no front site, no nothing......a very stripped down bushmaster with paint. Therefore it is priced accordingly.

If the intention is to bring it back to the black configuration - the money saved from the lower price tag won't make up to the parts and gunsmithing time needed.

It will be used for plinking and just making noise at the gun range. Just a plain jane plinker (with a new paint job of course)

Save the door kicking for my other superkewl AR15's.

I'm scared to leave this rifle on the grass at Connaught's firing mound, I'll never find it again. Kinda reminds me when I radio'ed TimK that all my people were under cover in the butts and I was ready to go 'RED' Flag.... then TimK said to 'Check Fire' on the red flag since he spottted a moving soldier (in Cadpat) zipping up his fly and walking down from the bushes near the number boards, up by the back stop.

So if I don't get a Remmy R15 will my #### fall off ?

I'm going to put a key chain activated alarm on it so then I will never lose it.

*Push button*

"oh.........there it is........" :D

Sorry but I had to say this. I think every forum should know what the Dion said today

Say goodbye to these rifles if Dion wins the election.
