Are these rifles any good? Contemplating buying one of the predator rifles but don't know anything about them? I have 3 model 700's that I am very happy with but the model seven feels sloppy in comparison. Mainly woried about average out of the box accuracy. Thanks in advance.

My wife has a model 7, laminate stock, blued in 223. That rifle absolutely loves the winchester white box 223 ammo. About an inch to an inch and a half at 100 yds consistently. Plus makes a very nice and light carry rifle for coyote hunting.

My wife missed a coyote with my M700 .223 as it's a touch awkward for her use, so I picked her up a Model Seven in .243 Win. It currently wears a Leupold VariX II 3x9x40 but I have a Leupold Compact 3x9 to install instead.

I've only tried some 80gr factory ammo and it put three shots into 1.25". Handloads will likely do better. All in all, a nice compact little rifle :)

Have had one in .308 Win. Was a good rifle but sold it to a fellow CGN'er who had it rebarreled to .358 Win. Hopefully he will chime in on how it's doing these days.

I do have another one, in .223 Rem though. Started out with the factory 18 1/2" pencil barrel. Had it rebarreled with a 24" Rem 700 takeoff barrel.

Looks like this now:

Shoots like this:

i have had an 7saum and two 308 rem 7's. for a lightweight rem i prefer my mountain rifles. have a 280ai and a 260. i like the longer barrel and think they balance better. weight is almost the same.

The rem model 7 is one of the finest rifles I have ever owned its my favorite,
action is like it was in butter, shoots 150 gr Hot Cors over 4064 -3/4" at 100
