Remington New model number 4 38 rf so I thought

Picked up a new model #4 from another sight.Seller said it was in 38 rf and since I have a Smoot 38 rf and reloadable brass I grabbed it.Its in decent shape with about 90% plus nickle finish remaining.Bores in need of a good cleaning but shootable.I have some antique 38 rf ammo and wanted to check the muzzle erosion ie sticking the bullet in the muzzle.The whole round slid right in to the rim.I tried it in the cylinder and it wobbles and sticks out the end.I recalled a video that claimed 23,000 of these were made,only 300 in 41 rf.Part of the added confusion is the cylinder is marked 38.Im collecting Remington Smoots and got this because its the last in that line.I dont have a 41 Rf casing to see if it fits.Is it worth more because only 300 were made in this cal?Anyone spare a 41 rf casing so i can check,I will ship it back if needed.Dave

Cast a chamber with wax and take some rough measurements. Should be good enough for basic chambering ID.
