Holmes thanks for the offer but I already downloaded those 10 pages from that site and have them in my computer.I don't know how to convert those pictures so that when I print them they come out the same as you see them not partially.

Thanks again

I tried firing .22 long out of my Nylon 66. Half of the casings cycled, and the rest did not. Always use .22 long rifle.

I also made the mistake of taking the gun apart to clean. It took a while to put back together

OK, so tell me what is the big draw to the Nylon 66? I'll admit that I'm pretty much ingnorant of these rifles. These are the same rifles that were given away free with the purchase of Remington chainsaws, many moons ago, are they not? Besides what I've read about not having to clean them, other than the barrel, is there something else that attracts people to them? Just wondering what I'm missing out on.:)

They are light and fun to shoot. Little maintenance. Reliable. Mine only ever gave a cycle prob when I tried to shoot 22 longs. Flawless every other time. My first gun, had it at least 25 years.

I was given one this summer and it doen't have a blemish on it(98% condition). My grandfather said he never liked it,
I enjoy shooting it. If it is worth 250american thats gone up from the 48.00bucks he paid for it new. hmm.........maybe i should leave it in my locker and wait a little longer hehe

We had one when I was growing up...It crapped out after about a zillion rounds and no cleaning. then we found another. I love it and my Ruger 10/22 equally they both rock for gophers :D

Yeah I had a mint condition Green Nylon 66...original....it was in totally mint shape..anyways I took it in to Al Simmons Gun shop in Hamilton to get it cleaned...the dude who dissassembled it basically broke it...after at least half a dozen attempts...he could never get it to shoot again...I was totally bent..and they gave me a brand new 10-22 at the time...but looking back it was a #### trade. If you can get your hands on a nylon...in good shape get one...but never ever take that thing apart..its like a clock on the inside..lots and lots of springs..

That sux. I would have had to slap someone around. I wonder if you had already taken yours to Simmons... cuz when I first tried and failed to put mine back together, I drove down there initially and they seemed scared to touch it. They said, there is no guarantee they can put it back together. So I brought it back and eventually figured it out on my own. Good thing I did! It was a clip of some sort that was the most troublesome.

yeah I caused alot of grief over mine there...probably why they wouldnt work on yours.

Just curious what failed on yours after so many rounds without cleaning?.

And here I thought I was just stupid cause I had trouble getting mine back together, never take another one apart, looks simple but thats just to fool you!!!

I've never fired a Nylon66, but someday I'm going to get one. I've been so fixated on my Ruger and Mossbergs that I just never bothered.

Believe me! You have to bother. When you get your hands on one you will react the way I did - why did I wait all these years before getting a Nylon 66?

I have several .22 rifles and like them all - bolt action target and field weight, pump, and semi, but I have to say: the Nylon 66 is the (to use an old fashioned term from the time the 66 was designed) NIFTIEST .22 I have ever handled and fired. They were produced from 1959 to 1987, I believe.

Concept and design way ahead of its time.

Hope you get one soon,
