I have a pretty nice looking Rem Nylon 66 MB. I've been looking around for a fair price for this nice looking, functioning rim fire rifle. Anyone know how to age them? Anyways, I am just interested, as I have really never had anything to do with one of these.

Thanks, moosin

There may be some info on SNs on Remington Society site, towards the age. As for value, one was on EE last summer (search found only one) for $425 and I see them occasionally on G-P at that price range or a bit higher. Sorta a 'niche market' since not really 'super accurate' but still neat. I had one 50 years ago, then got a Marlin 60 whichj was a much more accurate rifle, even back then.

Remington of that time uses the barrel date code system, where the barrel has two letters, the first being the month and the second being the year. As said above they can be found on the Remington Society website by searching "Remington barrel date codes". I would post it here but I don't know if there's a copy right or something.

As for value I've seen them as low as $275 at a local gun shop but it was a particularly rough and hard to look at example. It seems like when they get badly scuffed up they have a horrendous discoloration. Then I've also seen them as high as $800 as also said above. Though the last one I had was somewhat hard to get rid of at a moderate price.

CBC in Brazil purchased all of the rights and manufacturing equipment to make a basic black nylon 66 for a few year’s
Did a great job
