Just looking into getting an AR but I am not doing any type of tactical/CQB stuff just looking for something accurate for the bench.

I am liking the Remington so far, and it gets real good reviews online! Some claim it is made by bushmaster, and similar to their varmint Ar! I like the idea of having the 18 inch fluted barrel in case I ever do decide to play with it on the action range!

So far I have only found 3 options which is a little disappointing!

Questar has the RRA Predator Pursuit
- $1600
- 20 inch heavy barrel, but not bull barrel
- 8 week order time

Arms East has the Stag Super Varminter
- $1600
- claims 1/2 MOA
- 24 inch bull barrel (a little long for my liking)
- In stock

Ellwood Epps has the remington R15 VTR
- $1100
- 18 inch fluted heavy barrel (can still handle alright)
- positive reviews online
- dont know how I feel about the camo

Is there anyone other than the sponsors above who has a bigger lineup of AR's?

We sell a wide variety of AR models from an assortment of manufacturers... many of which are in stock (most of the time) but the less popular models are special order. In some cases the popular ones are also sold out and waiting for next shipment, but people can place orders for those ahead of time.

The RRA Predator Pursuit uses a special Heavy Match Stainless Air-gauged barrel (same one they use in the National Match guns) which saves on weight.

Also, keep in mind that the RRA Predator Pursuit (or Varmint series rifles) come with a host of other features that are included in the price (Hogue Grip, 2-Stage National Match Trigger, Star Selector, aluminum knurled free float tube handguard, etc.).

If you are specifically looking for an 18" Bull Barrel then you might look on our website under AR Uppers.

The RRA Varmint series (offered in 16", 18", 20" and 24") are all Air-Gauged Stainless Bull Barrels with .223WYLDE chambers and come with RRA's 3/4MOA accuracy guarantee.

These can be ordered as complete rifles or as complete uppers (as listed on the website) and then you just combine them with any Mil-Spec lower that you have or purchase separately... choice is yours.

95% of our business is for AR's that are 16" or shorter... as a result that's what we focus on and that's what we mainly try to keep in stock. We do offer the longer barrel uppers but they are usually special ordered for each customer as required.

I don't own an R15 so take this for what it's worth but... I have been unimpressed from what I've seen. I saw one used at a match that kept jamming. On another occasion I saw one that could not handle the 10 round LAR mags. Personally I think AR's should be black - the camo looks out of place to me.

I have a 16" RRA that came from Questar a few years ago and I have been nothing but happy with it.

Just my 2 cents...

My Rock River Arms 20 inch Varminter is the most accurate AR that I have ever shot. It will do well under the 3/4" that they guarantee, CONSISTENTLY. Beyond awesome for an out of the box gun!

I've got one, I shoot with some other guys that have a Remington ARs as well. Every one of them shoot well, no issues out of the box. I regularly run 10 round mags, no worries. The triggers aren't bad either, a lot better than the R-25's trigger. As far as the camo goes, I don't notice it while shooting, but then again you now have an excuse to do a paint job of your own liking. I believe P&D, Wholesale Sports as well as Milarm carry them here in redmonton.

Yeah they do but down here in Southern Ontario Ellwood Epps has em for $200 cheaper! $1093 for the R15 Carbine! I have been reading reviews and other forums the last couple nights and they seem to get real good reviews! I think I am gonna have to pic one up!

I think I am gonna go with the 18 inch, just in case I ever want to take her out on the action range. It is lighter than the other choices above, and would be more manageable for any CQB kinda stuff, although not ideal! Bottom line the price is right, and topped with a fixed 10x Bushnell 3200 tactical it should make for a fun range toy!

Great post, is what I was looking for in the R15. I can assume that this firearm is a Club/ Range, gun only?
Looking for a good semi auto varmit gun, as I look after 250 acres of cash crop farm loaded with dirt pigs (ground hogs), Raccons and porcupines.
The R15 would better suit than the Remington 742 I presently use.

Pretty sure I already stated that in this post. LOL

Yep in Ontario we are fcuked. I don't think driving out there would save me any money either! Lol

R15 is a great gun though and super accurate! For the price it really can't be beat!

Dude go with the Stag, if your not ok with the barrel length, ask Walter if he can trim it down for you and thread a flash hider on. For that kinda money (1600) you wont find anything better quality wise, fit and finish, and customer support.

This guy makes alot of sense
