Remington R3 Recoil Pad for the 870 Express

Has anyone tried an R3 recoil pad by Remington?

One fellow at the gun shop told me that it makes a big difference when firing slugs and buckshot.

Id like to get one but i like to get some comments on em first. Thanks!

Worth it big time... they are made by limbsaver.

The difference is a black&blue-bruised shoulder (stock) or just a sore shoulder (R3).

I have R3 pads on both my 12ga 870 SPS and my Remington 1100 Sporting 12. However, as far as I know, the R3 pad can only be fitted to a synthetic stock, not a wooden one.
