Remington Rand 1911 45 cal

The guys on here are gonna give you lots of info on the particular gun as well as a fair price.

They are going to scream for pictures though, so you might wanna get on that.

I have two. If it is original finish anywhere from 900-1200. Others may not agree. For GI 1911's condition is everything. Let's see some pics and the experts will soon chime in. There are alot of 1911 hounds on this board.

Can anyone tell me what this is worth....its a US army issue...green parkerized finish.....

Just because the slide says so doesn't necessarily mean it entirely is Remington Rand mfg.

As stated need clear pics of both sides, showing detail, including proof & property marks and inspector initials. And all or partial serial number to determine if the frame is in the correct serial number range.

Once that is seen then it can be determined if (1) original finish (2) matching frame & slide (3) original/correct small parts............................. ;)

+1. There are many hybrids out there with RR slides, which back in the day were considered to be of better quality than Colt's by many, and various off-brand frames, such as essex, imbel...and even norinco (personally, I think that anyone who puts a RR slide on a chinese frame deserves to be shot with the shameful contraption that he has just built, but that's another story).

Just like everone has posted the Ser# will tell a lot(1943 mods are getting more than 1945's) crossed rifles on trigger group,FJA ,HS on barrell, crossed cannons and proper slide lock and safety ,and grips all make up for a proper pistol.

I had an all correct 1945 (unrefinished RR) that I traded for a S&W mod 1917 in the same condition(97&+)with lot of gear.

So if it is all original you can think 1600 or More(thats what my trade ended up as) a 1943 RR all original 98& maybe 3000 to the right person!

Post some pictures and I'll bet you will be well critiqued!

Bob:)

I see you list your location is Norman, Oklahoma [USA].... so thinking the ball park prices you quote are what particular USGI's are currently going for Stateside in your location.... while our prices have climbed in recent years they have not gone as crazy here. Pocketfisherman quoted 900-1,200 for a ball park & from what I've seen that is more in line for current pricing in Canada. Of course correctness, originality and overall condition are paramount on both sides of the 49th, though.... ;)

Here's a very nice original 1944 mfg Remington Rand that I picked up locally last year:
