Remington rebarrel.

A friend of mine came back from a local gun shop saying he was told the Remington 700 SPS action has the barrel pressed in and that the action can't be rebarrelled.
Is this true?

I call BS on that one....it is threaded in like any other normal Rem 700.....

I do know that the M710 family has the barrel pressed in like you described, but I just rebarreled, my SPS .223 into an LTR wannabe. Life is good.
