Hi all, just tried to slack off the guide rods on my new 597, much to my surprise it wasn't necessary, trigger pull is nice and crisp and feels like about 4 lbs or less. Haven't shot it yet but it feels dam good.
Couple of things I noticed, the first 597 I looked seemed to have some kind of metal flakes around the ejector (I used a little flashlight to see in there)and the bolt action seemed a little loose, asked to see a second one, no flakes and the action was smooth and tight. Also no circled 10 on the magazine on either of them. Guess which one I bought.
The second thing is the numbers I found written inside the stock 2.3+s(could be a 5) could anyone hazard a guess what they mean
