Remington semi auto 22wm

Anyone have one or shot one.i am looking at a few different 22w.m.in semi auto. Rifles and this one seems to be the cheapest of the lot

I had one in .17hmr, and a few in .22lr pass through. The .17 was recalled to be rebarrelled to .22wmr, but I parted ways with it before getting to test it.

I liked all of them. Heavy bolt on 2 guide rods is a smooth runner (don't over torque, and bow the guide rods). I read/heard the 597 was plagued with magazine issues early but I never experienced that. The examples that passed through here were great runners, and accurate.

Something out that I haven't tried yet is the Savage A22wmr, and don't know how it compares price-wise.

I own a Rem 597 in 22mag, she's a keeper. Very accurate, just keep it clean and upgrade the mag if you get one of the first ones.

Picked up a Remmy 597 22 mag from here 2 years ago, love it.
Have a few pieces from McCArbo, springs and such to install when I get the time.
Just wish it wasn't so damn expensive to shoot.

Have you checked out the Savage A22? I have heard good things.

I had a 597 and it wasn't bad, but then compared to my other 22s it didn't work as well. I got lucky with a great performing 1022 and find thats the one I like to play with the majority of times.
