That occurred to me, too. So I looked it up, and Wikipedia says the minimum height for a Watts-type shot drop tower is 40m. Most Canadian grain elevators are in the 25-35m height range.

There was a lead shot making place on the Yellow head in Edmonton for a while. It shut down somewhere between 2000 and 2004.

Canadian Superior Munitions, I believe it was called. But they did not drop shot, they used a Bleimeister machine.
