I dug this up from my memory and the internet following a post on the Ammo forum and I want to make sure the shotgunners here see it. I remember seeing ads for this sport in magazines that must already have been old when I was a kid.

The Remington Model 121 .22 Routledge Smoothbore and the mo-skee-to launching system!

An interesting gun...''the last 12" of barrel is tapered out to almost 410 diameter!''
Do you have one?
The flobert comes to mind or garden gun...pest control at most.
I did check out those b&w photos of the girls with the mo-skeet trap thrower and clays.
Be a cool one to own for a Rimfire Collector.
Interesting find...

I have seen 2 smoothbore Cooey's in my travels that have the opened barrel for the last several inches, based on a model 75. I have personally seen a Winchester as above and I have checked if he would part with it. The guy collects Winchester pump 22 and will not part with it for love nor money and yes he does shoot it. Incidentally, that is where I saw one of the Cooey smoothbores

As. Luck would have it I came across a Mo Skeet O set a while back, it consisted of a Remington 121 "Mo-Skeet-O" a original thrower and an unopened case of the mini clays. Needless to say it's now sitting in my safe!!! I haven't had a chance to try it out yet, I'm not going to open the case of clays but I did find the Crossman shaterblaster discs seem to work ok in the thrower. So when the time comes that's what I'll be using.

I have also heard Ritz crackers can make an acceptable substitute for the originals. That came from an older gentleman that shot them in Boy Scouts many moons ago.

I have 1 of the Rem 572 SB guns. Bought it new in 1980 or 81, has shot maybe 10 or 15 rds and is still like new. Think I have 1 mini clay bird somewhere around here. Haven't shot the smoothbore in years.

I remember Orvis used to sell handheld Ritz cracker launchers in the 1980s. I didn't make the association, but they must have been intended for this type of shotgun.
