Hello,

I recently picked up a MINT Remington Sportsman 48 SC. The bluing is amazing and the wood looks amazing (like any skeet grade). It comes with a Vent-Rib with dual beads.
Can anyone tell me the history of this shotgun and possibly its worth?

Thanks,
Kevin

The Sportsman 48 was the 3 shot version of the 1148 hence the "Sportsman" label. They were a streamlined design based on John Browning's long recoil system. They were reliable, well built and engineered and Remington sold a pile of them. A mint Skeet version like yours may be worth about 500.00 with the right buyer. They really are a bargain as they are well made and the used market value of them is fairly low.
