Remington sportsman 58 charging handle

Hi, I just got a fixer upper remington 58 on a trade and seems like charging handle is missing. Anybody know where I can get one or any ideas on how to make one?

Not 100% certain, but I think a Rem. Mod. 1100 charge handle will work .

Agree. The early design for sure prior to 1987. They say the 1187 also but not the ones I have had they were different but were all newer ones in the 90s's except one and that one I cannot remember what was in it

Epps will likely have one. I got some parts for a 58 there. The fellow told me that they have dismantled several for parts. People let the crack get too long that develops in the slot for the charging handle. Take a close look at yours. It can be stopped by some careful grinding. Google the method, as there will likely be some guidance available.

No luck at epps although they might be getting some in.Cant get through to anybody at gravel agency.Any more ideas?
