Hi all,

Is there a detail out there on how to pull the bolt out of the Sportsman 58? Have a bit of repair work to do on mine, namely install a new/used cocking handle and not quite sure where to start. I grabbed the part plus a few incidentals from Numrich incase I open a can of worms. I have a parts breakdown and an original manual but they aren't to clear on how the bolt comes out. Would like to tackle this now that the weathers staring to get warmer and maybe take her out for a spin once I get her all fixed up.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Remove the fore end and lift the action bar assembly rivet from the piston that is in the mag tube. This will take the spring tension off of the action bar assembly. Be careful to retrain the piston and the spring in the tube. At this point move the bolt back slightly and the charging handle will pull out of the bolt assembly. Reinstalls the same but in reverse. Might as well clean the tube piston assembly at this point. Remember the inner tube and piston must be completely dry after cleaning and before reassembly.
