Remington SPS metal finish

I'm interested in a SPS Tactical or SPS Varmint in .308 but I read on many forums that the finish on the metal is really cheap and the gun rust very easily, is that true???

I've owned quite a few SPS models and they are not prone to rusting any worse than the standard remington bluing on the BDL.
Just a rough beadblast surface prep under parkerizing. Keep it oiled and you will not have an issue.

You can always sandblast it and spray it with Cerakote. I have a couple SPS actions I'm going to refinish as well.

If you are cost conscious... a fine layer of paste wax all over all the exterior steel does the job! Clear shoe polish? Nothing fancy! Works for me!
