Remington sps varmint

Nothing wrong with the SPS Varmint in any of the cartridges that they are available in. I have had a few of them chambered in 223 and found with some load development they will shoot sub .75 MOA.
Only modification needed would be to replace the tupper ware stock with HS precision 700P stock and tune the trigger to a crisp 2 pounds.

I would get the tactical simply because of the faster twist.

I've loved all the M700 Varmint Synthetic .223 rifles I've bought and owned and the pulled apart or sold. Not a bad thing to say about them. Yeah, if you can, spring for the TAC SPS .223 since it comes with a 9" twist barrel to launch 68's and 69's... all good fun.

I've got sps in .223 never had problem with it aside from the recall. i shoot about 1-3/4 inch groupings at 100 yards and have done smaller 3 round groups but 1-3/4 consistently. I'm reload with 50 gr nosler bt's 25.5 of benchmark. the Remington 700's are a tried tested and true rifle you can't go wrong with one. and yes the tac is a nicer version. I use my .223 for coyote hunting and plinking.
