Hello!
I bought a Remington Police Topfolding Stock some time ago and thought about putting a single point sling attachment on it.
The main pivot tube seemed like a good place so I devised a coaxial attachment stud for it.
I started with a long 1/2" bolt that I chucked in my press drill and reduced the bolt diameter to 7/16" with a big fine-toothed square file. I turned the bolthead to a round snagless shape (maybe I'll reduce it a little bit more).
Then I cut a circlip retaining groove at the end, near the exit point and shaped the rest to accept an Uncle Mike's QD swivel.
Here's the rough and unfinished prototype. Took me about two hours. Ah! if only I had a small milling and turning machine!

Upgrading

If you have access to a lathe, that thing would be easy to do.
Trick: maybe I would cut an helicoidal groove on the covered central part of the stud with two ending grooves to put and keep lithium grease inside; that would alleviate any risk of having water seep in and cause corrosion.
Ok, guys! at your lathes! I want to see the better version of that gizmo!

AutoCad

One of my friends is a machinist and said he would make an AutoCad rendition of my project.
Here are some of the 3-D views he made.
He's presently making a small test run of the project, just for fun. I'm pretty sure it will be better looking than my press-drill-and-file prototype! :)

Price...

Well, I'll ask my friend how many he can make and we'll figure a price based on average machining time and cost of material which will be a good carbon steel that takes tempering and blueing well.
There are not too many of these Remington Police top-folding shotgun stocks, I guess, so if you want one swiveling anchor pin for yours just let me know.

Hang on. More to come soon.

$?...

I may be interested in a few if the price is right.
I just received the last drawings with exact dimensions before the first production run.
Now, I'll have this thing done right and come back to you with pics.
News are that it'll be machined out of a good tool steel that can be cut, ground, tempered and blued easily.
My friend will keep a close check on production costs and we'll figure how much we have to ask to break even.
Until then, don't move, more to come!:)
