Remington trigger settlement

I have owned a few dozen over the years. If you don't gum them up with oil, and people with no clue don't mess with them, they work fine. The 40x triggers have been very nice to use.

Bottom line for me in this whole debacle and no disrespect intended but I would be very surprised if every death documented blaming a faulty Remington trigger could have been prevented if proper muzzle control was used

Most of the deaths and injuries were when unloading, so I tend to agree. I don't know why people fully cycle the action to empty the mags, even a blind mag can be unloaded without chambering every round.

Not mentioned in the CNBC blurb are the settlements and recalls which took place in the 70's and 80's. The whole affair is a classic example of lawyers speaking out about a subject about which they (a) know nothing and (b) about which are incapable of learning because they won't freakin' listen. There was no fatal flaw in the design although there were some superfluous parts. There were, over the years, occasional issues with materials and/or workmanship. This same statement is true regarding most other triggers built by other manufacturers.
