I don't have the tactical model so I don't know for yours but my synthetic model has the thicker 1.25" recoil pad, I can replace it with a regular 1" supercell if I want to make it a bit shorter. Ultimately I switched it back and just got used to shooting the longer LOP

Mesa Tactical makes a pistol grip stock for VM with shorter LOP (12.5" vs 14.25")

I had 1.5" chopped off of mine. Coralanes in Dawson Creek, BC did the work, had t/wo done actually. I'm a pretty tall guy but I like the reduced LOP personally.

I took the old butt pad off then cut 1 1/4" off the stock with a dremel. I just bought a 1" slip on limb saver and its the perfect length now.
