Anyone have one of these yet? I have been drooling over em for wile now. And just wondered if its worth the extra bit of money over other Remington's for target shooting? Are they good long range performers like they say? They look really nice but I havnt herd all that much about them

I have one in a .223rem with a 1 in 9 twist. They are nice and light (the new stock that they put on them are very comfortable) and have a good trigger pull with the new X-Mark Pro trigger. The trigger has a nice crisp pullon it as well. I have done a few different bullets test with it. I have tested so from 55gr to 80gr bullets. From the data that I have gathered the 80gr bullets show the bext grouping so far. I have to look for the target and measuring the group size with the 80gr. Once I find it, I will post it up.

I have one, but I wouldn't call them long range target guns. The XCR is weatherproofing (sal####er in particular). I've only had the chance to shoot mine out to 200 yrds with factory ammo and so far mine likes the longer winchester's combines technologies ballistic silvertips compared to the federal's or remmington. The Winnie's are longer and my XCR prefers that. I like the gun. But I could not adjust the rear sear engagement screw, so I'm gonna cop out and buy a jewell HVR. The factory trigger is good but heavy. The stock is o.k. and I like the hogue grips. If you're looking for a great wet weather rust-proof hunting rifle, go get it! If you're looking for a varminter of tack driver, go elsewhere. I do love my XCR in .270 Win and don't regret anything about it. In the end though time will tell if it is worth it. I abuse my toys, and I'm hoping that it will withstand the pumpkin touch of water.

drvrage,
I believe death-junky was refering to the XCR LR Tactical rifle. They only come in .223,.308 & .300WM.

I have one in .308winchester. It shoots very well. It took about 50 rounds before it started to shoot really good. This saturday my rifle shot a 3.5" group at 500 yards. It averages about .75" at 100yds. I was shooting 155gr. Sierra Palma match bullets. Varget powder, neck sized cases,Federal match 210m Primers. This load still penetrates almost .25"of steel at 500 yards. Not bad for a .308! The action is very smooth, and the trigger is good. I'll give the trigger a 8.5 out of ten. I really like the feel and balance of the stock. The only problem I had was that Remington drilled the action scope base holes out of alignment! It was bad enough that I had to use Leuplod bases and Burris zee rings with the offset inserts (0.020")to get enough movement to align the scope and bore. At that point I had 100% of my scope windage adjustments available to me. This kind of problem should never happen with a high end product, no matter the manufacturer. Other than this alignment issue, this rifle delivers to my expectations and a little more. Take care,Have fun, and straight shoot'in!

I have one in .300 Win Mag - I have it housed in an AICS 1.5 so can't really comment on the factory stock. I included this set-up in a review of tactical/precision rifles I did a while back - you can find it here :
