Remlin MR Dating Info.....

I looked thru our Firearm Dating Sticky and snooped the Marlin Forum but still don’t have a definitive answer.

The question ;

I see a 1894 Deluxe Marlin in 45 Colt, the serial # begins with MR (I get that part lol) then kicks off with an 8, four more #’s and ends with a G. I don’t see this model in the current Marlin line up but I think 8 gets me past the <2014 ugly stuff?


Any insight is much appreciated as this sale will happen without me physically getting my mitts on it.....

You need to find the 2 letters stamped on the barrel for REP date code, they can be very faint. example AJ = March 2015.

L Feb
A Mar
C Apr
K May

P June
O July
W Aug
D Sep
E Oct
R Nov
X Dec

Then year letter starts with A 2006, B 2007... J 2015, K 2016, L 2017 and M 2018.

At least that's what I have read on the internet.
