Hey all, new to gunnutz and enjoying all the help and friendly advice from all the nutz out there. Just would like to share a few pictures of my latest acquisition as well as a brief description of some of the upgrades that with the help of other nutterz i was able to achieve. Started with a Remington 700 Bdl that had a trip through the custom shop (jeweled bolt, fancy schroling on the receiver, bolt was also trued) It came in a black synthetic stock (which i replaced with a nice walnut stock from a fellow nutter) and with the help of all the experts willing to share their knowledge managed to complete a beautiful job bedding and freefloating. Once everything was dried and re-assembled headed out to the range with some Weatherby factory ammo (180 partition to be exact) and was pleased to get a nice grouping (5/8" at 100yrds) Also sitting on this rifle is a new Leupold Canadian 4x12x50. Thanks everyone for all your help. Please feel free to suggest anything that would help me along as i am new to this and these are my first pictures posted.

It appears from your pics and the group size, assuming its repeatable, that almost anything else is going to be a matter of personal preference rather than a huge improvement to your rifle. For example I prefer a hinged floor-plate to a DBM, so I'd be looking for some high quality bottom metal. You didn't mention what type of bedding you did, but if it was me I would pillar bed in addition to glass/steel bedding the action to prevent the action screws from compressing the wood. I am tempted to suggest a shooting sling, although it seems that many of todays riflemen don't get it. But if a shooting sling is something that interests you, check out the Galco Safari Ching Sling.

Awesome looking rifle, in great chambering as well, I love the 300 wby I've got a couple of them myself one older mark V and a mark V light weight both have treated me very well and taken there fair share of game. I think you've got a great little package goat, like boomer said with grouping like that it's just how I'd want it. As for too nice for the bush? Maybe to nice to get beat around on a quad but besides that hunt away.

Thanks guys, I will be hunting with this rifle. I will probably want to start loading some of my own stuff but have little knowledge of what is needed to get started. Thanks again
