A few questions: one of my friends dropped by this morning and asked me if the Norinco's 870 copies were easy to service and if they accepted Remington barrels.
Your advice, please.

As long as it is the 14" Nork or the 28" Nork as the other two models (18.5" and 26" I believe) have a 6 shot tube and the barrel ring is farther down the barrel.

OK... So, being farther down the barrel precludes using genuine Remington barrels...
What about Norinco ones? do they have interchangeable chokes or is the 18 1/2'' a cylinder-only proposition?
Would he be better off with an 870 Express?

The 18.5" is a cylinder only gun. The Dominion Arms 870 clones will have chokes on them, so that would be a good bet unless 15" or 12.5" is too short for your friend. Possibly a 870 Express would serve his purposes better...
