While cleaning my 30 30 Winchester, I accidently knocked over a bottle of Hoppe's No 9 Gun bore cleaner. A good once of the cleaner drained into the breach ,loading, trigger and safety mechanism. It was just dripping everywhere. I spent a lot of time with rags and Q-tips getting as much out as i could. Question. 1. Will the cleaner that i could not get out, cause any corrosive damage to the action ? 2. Should I flush out the whole assembly?. If a yes to the flushing . What should I use ?

Can you strip it down to basic parts and give er a puff or two with an air compressor?? I don't think it would hurt anything if you left it, but it will most likely seep out at the worst times.....like when you're hunting or whatever.

Wash it out with Hoppes #9 or lighter fluid and blow it out with compressed air.

Hoppes #9 will attack nickle plating, but it has no effect on chrome moly steel - blued or in the white.
