Hello All,

I'm swapping out the furniture on my CZ858, it's currently a Fab Defense set-up.

Got both the front guards with a little effort but for the life of me can't figure out how to get the rear stock off!

Is there a trick I don't know about? Can't seem to find any access to the bolt holding it on.

Help!

If it's the be buffer tube, you should see a slot on the underside that travels in on a slight angle towards the receiver end. You will need a long 4mm Alan key to reach the bolt inside.

Hope that helps,

Josh

It's the one with the "shock" absorbing buffer tube. Thanks for the info, will have to take another better look at it tonight.

Silly me, thought removing the aftermarket furniture would be an easy thing :(

Glad to help.
Just curious, what are you replacing the Fab Defense with?
Are you moving to a folding stock?

Actually going with the plain black plastic fore grips and the skeleton stock. Love the look of them and since I'm not running optics the simple set-up is perfect..

Just need to figure out how to put the butt stock on, there is a weird ass stepped screw with opposing threads on it.

Started another thread hoping to get some help as I can't for the life of me figure it out.

Getting old I think :(

Is one part meant to be threaded in from inside the receiver?
Sorry I don't have any experience with the skeleton, I'm sure there must be a logical way for it to fit together though.
When you say opposite threads are there two separate threaded pieces, as in, can you thread the lager diameter piece in from the inside of the receiver and then thread the the stock bolt into that?
Sorry I don't have the answer to that one, someone else will likely know though.

The fat part of the stepped screw definitely goes into the reciever. The other part into the stock. However, the threads are not the same. One is left and the other right. Thought maybe going from the inside was the ticket but it didn't work.

Should be a simple thing but I'm at a loss.

Did you flip the larger piece 180 degrees ? then just go in from the back of the receive?
If only it was this easy, a simple flip and you're in like flin.
I would have to see it to know exactly whats up.

Anyone?

GOT IT! Bfiles gave me a some direction and it's all together. Pretty cool actually, you thread the screw in from the rear of the receiver and then use and allen key to screw it into the receiver witch also tightens the stock onto it. Pretty slick and I am still a little puzzled by it :D
