Yet another post about my SAM 1911 commander stainless. I cannot remove the extractor. I have tried spraying it with WD-40 and pushing with a wooden dowel. It won't budge. Any suggestions?

Internal or external extractor on those Sam's? If internal (hence the dowel), I would try two ways. Try to drive the extractor forward (slide off the frame) slightly. Once it moves it will come out with more penetrating oil and elbow grease. Another way is to work with a modified screwdriver or piece of fitted steel. Take an implement bent 90 degrees that fits into the firing pin stop slot in the extractor. Put the tool in a vise and set the slide into the tool. Then with a non marring hammer, tap the slide forward taking care that the tool doesn't slip out of the extractor slot.

Once you get it out (to tune it I assume), grease is your friend for reinstallation. Not too much mind you, it must freely flex in there. Too much grease could result in a bit of hydraulic resistance to flex, which could result in what would appear to having an extractor that needs tuning...oddly enough. BTW, WD40 is a pretty sh1tty penetrating fluid. a lot of better options but I also understand the concept of using what's on hand. Eventually you should change "what's on hand" imho.

Honestly...50/50 or 30/70 cut automotive automatic transmission fluid (the cheap stuff) and diesel fuel. Submerge the slide in the solution for a day, and I'll almost guarantee it will walk out by itself. The more it's seized use the thinned solution. For a store bought solution just about any penetrating oil will perform better than WD40.

Are you sure the extractor claw isn't grabbing the breech face?

This. All mine pulled out with a hook tool.

And makes a good cleaner and ATF alone is a good lube.
