I am not sure if this is what you have in mind but I have installed either Timney triggers with side safety's, or the Bold brand available from Boyd's. Other than colour and price I can't tell any difference between the two triggers/safety's. Timney will run you over $100 and should be available from gunsmiths or gun stores in your area, or online. The last Bold trigger cost me $38 if memory serves.

Both triggers require a minor amount of wood carving on the stock to make them fit.

TradeEx has (had?) updated streamlined bolts to fit M96's but these bolts are not equipped with a safety. You may need to get the headspace checked if you replace the entire bolt.

Lots of smart people on here, maybe someone will correct me and set you straight.

If you just want a Beuhler type safety, I usually get mine from Brownells....Timney makes them.

I might have a NIB spare kicking around that's not going to be used...

This is a custom I have made for my Swedish Mauser. It is based on DAYTON TRAISTER - MARK II SAFETY from Brownells:

It requires making a cut in the shroud; not too difficult.
