For those that are wondering WHY the last comment was made, it's because many of guns of the era were fired with black powder cartridges (even though that one is nitro proofed) and a slightly pitted bore is very normal.
A complete mirror finish bore is suspected to be honed and polished, especially if the outer finish of the gun has lots of wear and the case is in disrepair.

Accuracy Plus in Peterborough had a very similar, cased Cogswell & Harrison about a year ago. IIRC asking price was $4000 and it sold quite quickly. Mind you it had paperwork and documentation with it as well. I honestly think $1500 is quite low for a gun like that. If you want to trade on vintage Winchester stuff, pm me.
