Hi,

How do you remove and put back the foregrip on a Remington 870?

I have a small foregrip that I want to put on an 870 but I don't know how to remove the large foregrip that comes with the gun.

Thanks

Large nut in the front end of the forend, threaded onto a sleeve that surrounds the magazine tube (part of the action bar assembly) . Generally removed with a special wrench, either like that supplied by a gunsmithithing tool supply company such as Brownell's, or as is often provided with after-market replacement stocks such as Ramline.

Try using a pair of needle nose pliers to fit in the two grooves. This should help, or make your own removal tool from a piece of 5/8" rod.

Hope this helps.

Yeah bent needlenose in 90 degrees works well to. Or make the tool yourself out of some metal, very simple.
