Long story short, I would like to put a KAC Triple Tap on my Bushmaster XM-15.

Problem is, the flash hider is welded on, and I have virtually no experience with that kind of gunsmithing.

Is it possible, and on top of that, cost effective, for a gunsmith to remove the flash hider from the barrel, thread it if needed (not sure...) and install the Triple Tap?

Or is it easier to get another barrel entirely?

a gunsmith with a metal lathe should be able to take the weld off then create thread to what ever size u want re threading rifle barrels are prety common long as the tread u want is smaler then whats there so the end of barrel can be turned down to the size of the thread.
