Hey all - I want to clean up the bayonet on an SKS so I get that wood, BBQ paint metal and silver bayonet. Any ideas? Saw a restoration video about another firearm that said Oven Cleaner will strip finishes. Does this work on refurb paint?

Thanks,

Cam

I am surprised that you have a BBQ painted bayonet...... some of them are blued or do you mean just the handle part?

Anything you have with acetone, will work good for paint removal - wife's nail polish remover - brake fluid.

Some of the refurbishment bayos were blued, some black chrome and some painted like the rifles themselves were. Not unusual.
