Removing camo paint from a HS precision stock.

I've painted a couple HS stocks. I did 1 job but found some runs and decided I needed to strip the paint off and try again (on a 4 layer camo job lol!!)

I managed to strip the paint fairly quickly with acetone and a lot of vigorous rag work. Mind you the paint may not have cured yet. I noticed the original finish looked a bit dull compared to it's original beauty. I dont know if there is any topcoat or maybe acetone doesnt play well with the finish. It wont melt or destroy anything the way it reacts to some plastic. My second paint job was aces!

I would just drench a rag and rub it like I'm in love with it. Even as the rag dries and gets bungled up with paint it was still effective only requiring occasional re-soaking of the rag.

I also found that acetone will strip most paint from a USGI fibreglass stock nicely without any damage to the fibreglass.
