Removing Camo Tape from barrel and stock

Not sure if I'm posting in the right spot.
Has anyone ever tried removing camo tape from their firearm.
I've got my eye on an item, but really don't want mossy oak breakup slathered all over everything... I'm afraid I might set it down outside and lose it

Tips, tricks, etc would be appreciated.

if it leaves any sticky crap behind, wipe it off with alcohol, or any firearm solvent would probably take it off too. without damaging the finish. (unless its wood)

lighter fluid cleans up leftover glue too.

Peel tape, use Rem Oil on a cotton rag to wipe away residue.

Something called goo gone. We use it at work. No idea where to buy it but it works.

WD-40 also removes tape residue.
