Picked up a new free float hand guard and figured I could just cut off the delta ring and hand guard cap. Should be quick and easy enough...
Of course it's never as simple as you think. I have all the tools I need except for an upper receiver vise block & punch block to just properly dis assemble it and slide off the pieces which I know is the smartest way but I was sure I have seen threads on here where people just cut off the parts quick and easy. I did go ahead and drill out the pin holding the front sling loop in place and that is off. After looking at the hand guard cap and the way that the gas tube runs through it, I don't think cutting it off is gonna be as simple as I had thought.
The rail I have to install is the 2 piece Centurion Arms with the cut out for the FSB, so I was hoping to not have to remove the fsb and worry about re installing it plum again.
Any ideas on getting the hand guard cap off without messing anything up?
