Removing fore end on a Norinco cqa

Just curious if any one has any pointers on how to remove the fore end of a Norinco cqa

Many threads of this.... difficulty of customization as the Norc is out of spec is their one drawback.... Patience and firm grip is a start...

I jad to destroy my fsb to get it off to switch my handguard to triangle style. Im in no way a gunsmith, but i tried everything to get those pins to move and it was a losing battle

You need to compress the washer springs to remove the halves, there is a tool for doing this but can be done if you have strong fingers

You can also just reverse a pair of adjustable joint pliers and use the rubber coated handles to push down the washer.

It helps if you have three hands...

I have a diemaco upper, and it wasnt near that easy to do... do able but you usually lose some finger skin in the process.

I have changed mine a few times, bought a Delta Ring tool from TNA after the first attempt.
As others have noted, Norcs aren't Milspec (apparently no spec LOL) so you may have to fiddle getting new fore ends on.

I've removed 3 of them.
They weren't a walk in the park but not impossible
I put several layers of hard cardboard down below the FSB and use a BFH to drive the pins out into the cardboard .

I am struggling with this also. If I could just get the barrel nut loose then I don’t have to worry about the FSB

I think he means the block itself, but it's just as likely he's still working on that last taper pin as we speak
